The Bling Is Dead

Just as irony was said to have passed on post-9/11, Esquire is now proclaiming the death of bling in our post-boom economy. Taking its place is “Low-Key Luxury” — something, we must say, The Beggar has always doggedly pursued.

But low-key doesn’t necessarily mean low cost, according to Esquire, which is happy to suggest hundreds of ways to spend many thousands of dollars on this more understated and refined approach to style.
