Robot-engineered bespoke suits for under $500? Without explicitly endorsing these miracles of science, Urban Daddy confirms their existence, and right here in New York City. Flatiron-based Alton Lane still cuts its suits by hand, but leaves it up to technology (first developed for airport security) to take your precise measurements. We’re equal parts intrigued and skeptical. Really, it’s a suit’s materials and construction — along with the skill required to assemble its disparate parts — that makes it expensive. We’d be very interested to see what these guys can do for less than $500.
