Here’s some terrific news to close out the week. GQ just named Billy Reid the winner of its 2010 “Best New Menswear Designers in America” competition! Not that we were rooting against any of the nominees, but Reid’s refined yet down-home aesthetic is filling a potentially fatal void in the heart of menswear. It’s as grownup as it is playful; as civilized as it is free-spirited. The ‘Bama-based brand can be summed-up in one word: Charm — the importance of which us city-slickers are too quick to forget, and something which we can all use plenty more of! Bravo, Billy!
