Right this very minute, a tipster tells us, Soiffer Haskin is hosting a “private” Ralph Lauren sample sale. It’s officially for “friends & family,” but, in our book, we’re all family to Ralph. “Picked up two pairs of RRL jeans for $25 each,” writes our tipster. “Sterling silver cuff-links for $25 … RTW is almost all medium/32.” More sale details — and iPhone picks — are welcome!
Update: The sale’s on today and tomorrow, 5/26-5/27, be we hear the line’s out of control, and you definitely need an official invite. If you’re still down, our tipster tells us: “Prices are pretty good, shorts from $15-$25; woven shirts $25-$35; sweaters $35-$60. Ties are awful Lauren brand, but are $5.”

Racked has more details about the sale:
http://ny.racked.com/archives/2010/05/26/giant_private_sale_lines_prove_ralph_lauren_has_a_lot_of_friends_and_family.php
Key points:
– No “official pass,” no sale entry.
– Soiffer Hasking plans to host a public sale starting 6/8.
As with all these Polo sample sales, unless you go as a guest of an actual employee and hit the ‘employee sale’ the day before the friends and family sale (I once did that a few years ago — and still talk wistfully about how well I did to this day), this is NOT a good use of your time.
Went this morning waited a full hour and half in this vicious heat and within 2 minutes of browsing the men’s racks, was consumed by crippling disappointment.
There’s NOTHING left fellas.
I scored the last Black Label piece in the entire place (a grey double breasted jacket in a 40). Everything else is the regular blue label Ralph you can get at Macy’s or Bloomie’s. No Purple Label, no RLX, maybe 3-4 RRL jeans in a size 32 and that’s it.
Don’t bother unless they’re restocking (and I doubt they are) or you’re looking for super thick wool turtlenecks.
Oh and almost all shoes are size 9 (a few winter boots are size 10) and they’re nothing to write home about (or even text).
@Broguean – how much was the jacket? what were the prices like on everything else?
The Black Label jacket was $60!
i didn’t really need it as I have 3 other DB grey odd jackets but out of sheer principle I HAD to buy it.
You’ll never see prices like that anywhere else on earth.
The stuff there really was pretty jaw-droppingly cheap.
