Macy’s Spring Sale

— Thu, 10th June 2010 —

Ah, Macy’s. What can we say about the legendary department store? It knows how to throw a kick-ass parade! It’s over 150 years old! Its prices are always reasonable. The problem with Macy’s, however — aside from its location in the armpit that is Herald Square — is its fundamental inability to measure up to New York’s high standards. Style-wise, we advocate a relative middle-ground, which Macy’s might occupy in, say, Toledo, Ohio. In its hometown, however, the store’s patent-leather square-toe shoes, pleated cubicle-khakis, and drab basics just don’t cut it. So, why even mention Macy’s spring sale, featuring up to 50% off “ready-to-wear,” shoes, and accessories (along with free shipping)? Well… it’s not all bad.

Tommy Hilfiger navy trim-fit cotton sports coat for $50 (-50%)

Nautica blue chambray twill buttoned shirt for $30 (-60%)

Dockers D1 slim-fit flat-front khakis for $35 (-50%)

Sperry Top-Sider CVO sneakers for $50 (-20%)

Polo Ralph Lauren cotton D-ring belts for $34 (-25%)

CR by Club Room polyester (yeah, we know) knit tie for $20 (-60%)

  1. This stuff is all blehh and the fact that a polyester tie even gets mentioned as an item worth checking out, is reason enough to solidify Macy’s status as…one that is lacking status. Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean it’s not crap.

  2. Well, We tried. We’d actually wear this outfit. Would have to actually feel the tie and see how it reflects light before knotting it up…

  3. I WANT TO USE THIS PHOTO FROM THE ABOVE AD ON MY BLOG IS THAT OK? ITS THE PHOTO OF MACYS HERALD SQUARE. I AM A MAKEUP ARTIST AT THE MACYS BOBBI BROWN COUNTER…

  4. I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your site.

It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here
and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?
    Outstanding work!
