Patrik Ervell For The Gap

Last week, if you recall, we awarded Uniqlo‘s +J the prize for Best Sports Jacket For The Money. Some of you agreed. Reader Rob F called bull, demanding that the crown go to Patrik Ervell and the jacket he designed for The Gap and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund — and which is only available at Gap’s Fifth Avenue concept store for the next month or so. Is he right? You be the judge.

“Really small store,” Rob says of Gap’s Pop-up store on 5th Ave between 53rd & 54th. “The Ervell stuff was in the back: One blazer, white cotton shirt in his standard club collar style for $190; one AMAZING cream cotton sweater for $190, the blazer for $288, and a pair of pants.”

“The blazer was nice, but built guys can’t fit into [Ervell’s] stuff so couldn’t close the button, and didn’t pull the trigger. [Could] close the button on a 42 but was too long for me.”

Rob’s wearing a 40 in the picture. “Made of silk but looked like linen or hemp and felt like a thick rugged cotton,” he added. “Quality was great and prices can’t be beat when compared to [Ervell’s] standard offerings.”

Supplies are definitely limited

  3. Well they were kinda like long jackets. The 40 I tried on was about a 36 chest and a 38 length ===== 36 long.

  4. Does anyone know whether the sizes start at a 36 or a 38, and what the length would be like on the smallest size?
