Rothman’s isn’t known for its exclusivity or cutting-edge styles, but its friendly salesman and on-site tailors sure know their way around a suit.  Downstairs, where the store’s magic lies, you’ll find some 2,000 specimens from traditional Italian brands like Canali and Corneliani, along with younger, slim-cuts from Zegna and John Varvatos. Less impressive, its first floor offers basics like linen button-downs and polo shirts from Penguin, Theory, and Scotch + Soda.

  1. never had a good experience at rothmans. sleazy sales guys, more than willing to sell an ill fitting suit, and dubious discounts on the standard off the rack manufacturers. much better off spending a tad more for a proper mtm suit.
