At Prive’ Sample Sale

— Wed, 7th July 2010 —

Like those road signs you pass in the middle of nowhere, the entrance to the Prive’ sample sale should read: “Last Chance To Fuel Up For The Next 1,000 Miles.” Yep, sample sale season is approaching its summer lull, and you’ll likely have to wait ’til fall to again find Bruno Magli suede wingtips for $100 (9 1/2, 10, 10 1/2); Hart Shaffner Marx navy blazers for $85 (36-48); and Earnest Sewn denim for $45 (31-40). To be clear, stock is limited, but it’s priced to move, and the finds are there to be found.

Every man needs a 2-button navy blazer ($85)

Though clearly conservative, this grey HSM suit is appropriate for any season, and just $200

Beautiful, if season-inappropriate, sweaters from HSM for $55

Non-fitted woven dress shirts from HSM for just $25

Love this navy linen button-up for $60, but most of the Theory stock is XL and up

Earnest Sewn jeans are priced to move at $45 (31-40)

Rogan beach basics, like this sweatshirt for $20

Prive  Sample Sale – Chelsea Market – 75 9th btwn 15th & 16th – Wed-Sat 10:30am-7pm, Sun 10:30pm-6pm – Map

  1. Stopped by yesterday. This company seems to be veering into banality. Like a slightly up-market Men’s Warehouse

  2. Gotta get there early, Corey. Like a missing persons investigation, the first 24 hours is critical. The stock actually came from a very up-market ecommerce site.

  3. I agree. I picked up a great pair of Jeans for $45 and – steal of the season – a Theory trenchcoat, waterproof with removable inner lining for $70!
