Ah, the Upper East Side’s Peter Elliot — “It’s all rich wood in the fixtures and explosive colors in the clothes,” writes Jon Caramanica in his latest “Critical Shopper” column for The Times. In stark contrast to Jon’s last profile (Nordstrom Rack with its overcrowded shelves and underwhelming stock), Peter Elliot offers patrons a highly-edited selection of pieces that pop. But, don’t assume that proper presentation always equals prohibitive pricing. On the contrary, polos run from $65-to-$75; Vans, which you can rest assured are the right ones to own, go for $80; etc. And that’s just retail. Adds Jon: “On a second visit to the store, I happened upon a quiet sale at which much of that delicate Cucinelli was half-priced, including an austere powder blue puffy vest (originally $1,315), and a lavender sweater, which fit beautifully and which now lives at my house.”
As of today, 7/7, all Peter Elliot locations are taking “30, 50, 70” percent off select S/S stock, a store rep tells us.
