  1. Good question! I searched high and low a few weeks ago for tailored-style shorts that were neither below the knee nor tennis-court short. The trend seemed to be for longer shorts. Finally a nice clerk at Paul Smith told me to look at Adidas Silver. I did and bought two pairs.

  2. I like these on Yoox. Can always get them hemmed to the right length for $10 and you know WWM is good quality: yoox WWM shorts

  3. I got tired of having every pair of my shorts hit at just above my kneecap. I missed my Ocean Pacific cord shorts from my youth. While the company may have a dubious connotation, some of the American Apparel clothes are solid. They make a cord short, identical to the vintage OP (if you can’t picture them, maybe think Magnum, PI?). I’m 5’8-5’9, 137 lbs and love these shorts. They are never going to mistaken for Bermudas and need the right shirt, but they fit (size 29) like they were made for me. Check them out if that look is your thing.

  4. I like my fairly short shorts from LL Bean signature. Only item I ordered from them where the quality was not appalling.

  5. I should have said only clothing item. I’m happy with my tote bag and watch. Their shoes were not good. And shirt and sweater were awful.

  6. just got a pair of blue marc by marc jacob shorts which come about halfway up from my knee. Definitely a choice, but i think it’s a good look if you have the legs for it.
