Barneys Warehouse Sale First Markdowns

Just a few early markdowns to report from Barneys Warehouse Sale: An additional 25% 40% off casual jackets and casual pants… and that’s it. Like the sign says, “Denim NOT included.” Otherwise, pretty quiet as shoppers wait for word of steeper markdowns — we’re talkin’ the first days of September. (In aggregate, we estimate that Barneys Warehouse attracts more visitors in the last few days than in the first week and a half.) Shoe’s are pretty solid — some of which you can see here — if still relatively pricey. Designer stock was non-existent from Day 1, suiting is suiting, shirts abound… In other words, exactly what you’d expect from Barneys Warehouse.

  1. When I was there an hour ago, they were changing the discount on casual pants to 40%. pretty bad selection in those bins. Lots of Steven Alan shirts now $60.

  2. Harsh words but it is so true. BWS had nothing among those piles of garbage. Loads of oversized shirts / pants that are still incredibly pricey. In the 10 minutes I was searching in the Denim bin only found 2 decent pairs that didn’t even fit me. Designer items selection was small, everything is oversized or pricey even with the 20-40%. Honestly don’t go unless your looking to kill time.

  3. I was there last night, and markdowns are still at 25%. Except casual pants, which is at 40%. Slim pickings as in terms of selections

  4. So the designer suiting, like McQueen and Raf Simons, still haven’t gone down? Dang!

  6. I was thinking about coming up from Washington D.C. tomorrow to pick up a few suits. Do you know if the Piatelli’s are still in the $500 range or have they come down? I have a little flexibility in timing and just want to make the trip worth the while.
