From Leffot With Love

— Thu, 16th September 2010 —

John “Critical Shopper” Caramanica treats himself with a trip to Leffot, which he christens “the city’s most thoughtfully executed multibrand shoe store for men.” Sounds about right. And despite the dutiful service, polished setting, and superior selection, we don’t consider Leffot a luxury — or least an extravagant one. On the contrary, most of its loafers, boots, brogues and moccasins are just smart investments. Sure, those Pierre Corthay oxfords for $1,150 might be pushing it (particularly if it’s your fifth pair), but, as we’ve said a million times: A well made shoe is the safest place to put your hard-earned cash.

  1. “A well made shoe is the safest place to put your hard-earned cash.” Amen!

    That, and a fine wristwatch.

If you buy quality and take good care of them, they will last forever.
