Just came back. If you’re a fan of J.Press it’s definitely worth a look. Otherwise, take it or leave it.
As of 11:30 there was a good assortment of ties and fedoras, but no more knit caps and very few outerwear sizes in M.
Asked two sales associates and they both confirmed that there will be NO restocking during the week. Haven’t heard anything different yet.
Just got back from the sale and made out pretty well. I bought a Harris Tweed blazer and a J. Press scarf for $141. I’m definitely going back to check on suits.
Returned just now… picked up a tweed blazer (38R) for $105. Worth checking out if you want a blazer or suit, sweaters and ties were okay (ties are a little wide), not much in the way of shirts. But the blazers were a great deal so I’d check it out if you’re in the area.
The Harris Tweed Blazers seem to be a Beggar-favorite, I picked one up (in the color with the sleeve-label close-up above), as well. I remember there being at least 4 or 5 more of this color in various sizes (39R (1), 40R(1), I don’t remember the rest), at about 1PM today. The damaged section is worth a look, as well. The comments above are pretty much spot-on, so there isn’t much else to add.
picked up two ‘shaggy dog’ scottish sweaters, 2 scarves, and a fantastic cashmere/wool fedora (“damaged”) for $5!
got 3 pairs of sample pants, 2 shirts, 3 ties for $150. not bad. for jackets/blazers not much in sizes above 42.
Unfortunately, I am immune to the charms of J Press. This is because I was raised in Connecticut, and can’t help but see their stuff as “Dad Clothes”.

Don’t bother if your not a big guy. No small sizes. Most suits and coats are 42s and up. Plus their stuff runs pretty big to begin with.
Bought some sweet ties…but they are a little bit too wide. Any way a tailor can cut these down? Or is it not even worth it?
John A, There’s a modern way to wear this stuff. Start with a piece or two, rather than wearing it head to toe like Andy (Ed Helms) on The Office. As long as it fits, pairing a tweed jacket, say, or a wool pinstriped jacket with some raw denim is very cool.

After checking the photos, I must say it all looks very 20th century. Love the materials, but I prefer them used on garment shapes that are updated for the 21st century. Otherwise they are not very flattering and they look too much like my Harvard-alumni bro-in-law (who I love, but wouldn’t want to be stuck in that sartorial time-warp). But that’s just me……………….

JPress, while well intentioned, has some of the baggiest fits ever. Totally stuffy and not at all wearable for someone who likes a slim cut. Not worth it if you have to pay $25-50 to alter something so radically.
