Esteemed contributor, and Eating Everywhere editor-in-chief, Sam Jacobs just came back from the CEGO sample sale — on through tomorrow, 11/19 — and provided us with this detailed report:

The CEGO sample sale is set up in a small room in midtown. There’s a small mix of men’s shirts – mostly mediums, and a handful of random sample sizes…

… Big box of pocket squares; small rack of ties. A few boxes of boxers, number sized 32-38 (mostly). Nice selection of Susan Horton scarves for men & women, and a couple racks of women’s shirts. The men’s shirts are all custom fit sample sizes. I recommend wearing a t-shirt since there aren’t any fitting rooms (except a small restroom), and the sizing is not exact. Definitely try stuff on. If something is a little off, Carl will tailor it at his shop (for a fee.) Worth the trip if you can use some basic accessories, and if you’re an easy shirt size.

And, don’t forget, CEGO is offering free pocket squares to anyone who mentions “The Beggar” at checkout.
