Meanwhile, in L.A. … West Coast correspondent and Hans, Boobie blogger Conroy Gibson just dropped into Steve Alan‘s other sample sale, going through Sunday, 11/07. Let him show you the way:

As with all SA sales, you are presented with a great selection of wall-to-wall shirting, ranging from plain to plaid to crazier (yet classy) prints courtesy of Liberty of London (each for $68) …

Although some of the outwear is more fit for a East Coast winter, the stock is diverse enough that you’ll definitely find something to fit every lifestyle – like a heavy flannel, down-corduroy vest, blazer, or rain slicker ($125). A large selection of SA tees and polo shirts are also available, if you’re still suffering the effects of that recent, totally random heat wave. Grab some casual chinos for $85 to complete any outfit. Speaking of casual, the sale is also offering simple-yet-essential items like hoodies and zip-ups ($55). Dress it up with a tie or bow-tie ($25) and show everyone your sophisticated side. Get your winter accessories on with a pair of leather gloves ($55) and a scarf ($49). The hat selection is also in full effect – grab a Harris Tweed Walker hat ($29), bucket hat, or — my personal favorite — Steven Alan’s Stormy Kromer Cap ($15), which comes in two types of plaid and — everybody’s favorite material — chambray.

Other than Steven Alan brand, the sale is home to other labels, including a large selection from Free City (tees, pull over hoodies, raglans and sweatpants are $50; zip hoodies are $80), while Alternative Apparel ($9 a tee; 5 for $30; 10 for $50) makes an appearance as well, along with small quantities of other favorites like Wings + Horns tees ($40) tees. Relwen also offers a variety of goods like button-downs ($58) and jackets ($89).

The wall near the entrance is literally made out of Generic Surplus shoes – $30 each or $50 for two pairs. Some other fan favorites sneaked into the sale as well – a decent selection of N.D.C. Made by Hand Athilia boat shoes are available for $155; a few styles of Duckie Brown for Florsheim are $145; as are the three pairs of Rachel Comey shoes on the floor.

  1. man, this review makes me appreciate the quality writing of the beggar.

looking forward to the nyc sale…i assume will be next week.

  2. I’m liking the west coast sale. Hoping I will be around for when it comes over to this coast.

  3. How warm was the pea coat? It’s 100% cotton, wool lined. Is it more of a fall than winter coat? Would a medium fit a 6 ft. 165lb lean 38 inch chest individual?

  4. Sweeet just marked 11/17 on my calendar. Going take a longgggg lunch break
