Housing Works “Fashion For Action”

— Thu, 18th November 2010 —

Friday through Sunday, 11/19-11/21, Housing Works is hosting its Fashion For Action shopping event featuring charitable donations from the likes of Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren.

“They always get good stuff — last year they had a rack of Moncler, a bin of Engineered Garments scarves for $10 each — always lots of Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tim Hamilton, Hugo Boss,Theory, Gitman,” a trusted source tells us. “Lots of fashion people on the board so they call in all their favors — The best part is that unlike the usual merchandise it’s all new and unworn.”

There’s also a VIP presale event at the Rubin Museum, today, but tickets cost $100.

  1. Last year I volunteered to work the benefit and regretted not just being a paying attendee within minutes. The event is really well worth the $100 ticket price – lots of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and first dibs on the fine merch in the store across the street, all for a great cause.

  2. Went there this evening. Walked away with a past season brooks brothers black fleece (thom browne line) khaki trench for $150 (down from $1600) and some nice gitman bros vintage shirts for $35. Good times.
