Hermès Sample Sale

— Tue, 17th September 2013 —

Screen shot 2013-09-17 at 12.37.36 PMWednesday through Saturday, 9/18-9/21, Soiffer Haskin is hosting its semiannual Hermès sample and overstock sale, featuring around 50% off apparel, home goods, and shoes. Unfortunately, the last event was entirely tie-less!

Note: There’s a private sale going on today, 9/17, but you’re unlikely to gain entry without an invite.

Hermès Sample Sale – Soiffer Haskin – 317 W 33rd St between 8th & 9th – 9am-6pm Daily – Map

  1. Anyone go to the VIP event today? I looked around online and it does not seem to promising. With that said, everything online seems to be woman-focused so I am curious of any guys had a chance to check it out. I’m curious about the discount, too, because 50% off retail is terrible…

  2. Checked out the VIP sale today. Don’t bother, discount is no more than 50% and items are those which are unwanted.

  3. went last night – after 5pm. discounts deepened to 75% off. still large selection.

    theJOJOhere!

  4. Terrible! I got there around 6am and waited to get in. For men, they have outerwear, suits, jackets, shirts, shoes and hats. Everything was 50% off. I bought a pair of shoes for $424.61 just because I waited so long. They are slip-on, rubber sole, with the Hermes symbol on the front, original price was $780, came with box.

For women they had gloves, hats, swimsuits, outerwear, shirts, and shoes. My wife is a size 7.5 – 8 and there was nothing worth getting (I was the first group in and there were two that may have been worth getting but not for ~$400 a piece). I picked up a pair of gloves for her that had no price tag, when I went to pay they were $450 so I didn’t take them.

The only way I would go back is if the sale was around 80% off. I would go back to see the shirts, jackets, etc.

NO TIES, NO SILKS, NO BELTS, NO CUFF LINKS, NO BRACELETS, NOT WORTH IT, unless you regularly shop at Hermes and don’t mind paying $2,500 for an OTR suit (and if you do, more power to you, I wish I could justify it).

    Bummer…
