Michael Bastian Sample Sale
  1. Roll tide! I can’t wait for this sale. Anyone have any insight on prices?

  2. suits were 500
    pants were 100-240
    shirts were 140
    shoes were 170
the best of all Michael was there.

  3. did they have MB when they were made by Cucinelli? Also, how much were blazers?

    Thanks Nick!

  4. They had a couple pieces from the Cucinelli days. I snagged a pair of light cotton jeans for $70 but it was scant. The shirts were ridiculously overpriced at $170 and $200.

Some of the sweaters were $400+. Shorts were $120 and a couple ties were $50. Hats were around $100. They had a small bin of promo tshirts from a runway show for $25 and a small box of havainais for $20.

  5. There really was not anything marked with a Cucinelli tag, aside from the jeans I got. Some of the suiting on a rack next to the Barneys stuff was probably Cucinelli, based on the fabrics, but no tags to confirm.

  6. IMO anything that was made by Cucinelli is worth its price. Anything after is WAY overpriced. I feel bad for the brand b/c there is a very noticeable difference in quality and, weirdly now, design. Hope MB can right his ship b/c what I’ve seen lately in Bergdorf, Barney’s is shiite.

  7. Expensive.
    Shirts $100-$190
    Polos $80
    Pants start at $70

Zach, they did have outerwear including a suede number for ~$1500.

Really nice plaid linen jacket from last season for ~$250 in size 52 I would have bought but didn’t fit me.

  8. I stopped by today — no markdowns. While there were still several racks of clothes available, it all looked pretty picked over and a little too rich for my blood. I probably wouldn’t recommend going unless you’re a big fan of the brand and willing to pay the price above.

It was pretty cool to see Michael Bastian though!
