J. Crew Sample Sale
  1. Thanks so much for the tip on the friends & family. Went today and scored a 38S ludlow suit jacket in 120’s for $120 (from $425) a 38R ludlow sport coat in harris tweed black watch for $150 (from $548), and assorted wool sweaters in small/slim for $35, and a few small/slim thomas mason archive shirts for $35. lots and lots of medium’s and size 40’s, with somewhat smaller amounts of 38/small, and almost no 36/XS. most of the stuff to be had wasn’t PHENOMENAL deals compared to what you can get in store sales (the sweaters that i got), but some of the items were definitely a great deal (the jackets and the thomas mason shirt).

  2. Really? That’s too bad. Went by right after lunch and the place had been ransacked-all the good outerwear/suiting/winter stuff was mostly gone. Staff said they would restock, but not until tomorrow.

  3. Joke was on me – one of the shirts I got has the wrong sleeves attached (they are 2″ shorter than any other jcrew shirts i have in the same size). I checked carefully for holes/other defects, but apparently should have tried it on first.

  4. Shoes are there but are cheaper online with the ton of discounts they offer throughout the year. Other merch was pretty decent, not great.

  5. Sweaters were ratty, you can get better cashmere’s at Uniqlo for less than the $90 they were charging. Shirts seemed like a good deal for $25, there was a ton of shirts.. The few Ludlow jackets I tried on had crazy short altered sleeves. Mostly large sizes in peacoats and melton jackets. Be sure to try things on, lot of samples had tears, alterations, and “sample” stamps on garments. Got over charged for a couple items, so be sure to watch your sale on the register! Cheers
