The Moment’s latest High/Low column — which skillfully finds the points at which “the chic and the cheap” meet — features this L.L. Bean waxed cotton vest for $89. (Buy it HERE) Once limited to a few international brands like Barbour and C.P. Company, larger American mid-tier brands have recently embraced waxed cotton for its supreme versatility and inexpensive manufacturing cost. We’ve long been huge fans of the stuff.

Gentlemen’s Resale 70% Off

— Fri, 6th February 2009 —

Saturday marks the beginning of the Gentleman’s Resale semiannual sample sale. Consistently well-stocked with a broad selection of conservative high-end men’s wear, the Upper East Side establishment is our favorite resource for such goods. Read our earlier review of Gent’s Resale HERE. The sale goes for two weeks, but we don’t suggest taking a leisurely approach.
