Amid the clearance-like atmosphere at Saks, we were genuinely surprised to find Edward Green shoes marked down by 30%. You’re still paying about $800 for shoes, mind you, but these beauties could easily be passed down for a generation or three. Otherwise, there’s always eBay where you can find Green’s for $1.50 to $450.
If you love James Perse‘s minimalist Northern California style like we do, keep in mind that he’s now taking upwards of 40% off his gear online and in stores. (To access the sale online, you’ll need to provide a little personal information.)
Missed the Steven Alan sample sale? Don’t fret, as his Franklin St. flagship — and Web site — are stocked with many of the same pieces at sample sale, or near-sample sale, prices. (The sales and selection are sweeter in the store.)
• Engineered Garments Sateen fireman jackets for $390
• Moncler down vests for $320
• Rogues Gallery knits for 140
• Mason’s light zip-up jacket for $170

Relax, and do a little shopping, it suggests.
Ironically, the Rogan/Loomstate clearance sale that began today is quite literally taking place in the shadow of a bottoming-out stock market courtesy of this Johnnie Walker wall display.
How’s the Rogan sale, you ask? Quite good, we say, and priced as follows:
