Bye-Bye, Mr. Brummel

— Tue, 18th November 2008 —

Who was Beau Brummel? An eighteenth-century dandy and arbiter of modern men’s wear.

What is Beau Brummel? A couple of European haberdasheries around town, one of which is in the process of closing its doors. Some of Brummel’s stuff is too loud and over-designed for our taste, and we find his cuts largely out of step with today’s slimmer lines. That said, we did find some very wearable suits, coats, and winter knits at up to 80% off –
