At 12 noon today, famed Italian shirt-maker Luigi Borrelli is having a sale hosted by Gilt.com. The Beggar has your invite to the member’s only site HERE.

If you’re not familiar with Borrelli, The Sartorialist conducted an interview with its young president and CEO back in ’05, in which you’ll also finds keen insights into Italian sartorialism.

The Beggar is proud to announce our first published column, which appears in the latest issue of online magazine h(y)r collective. Inspired by the madness that is Barneys Warehouse Sale, the short piece attempts to cast a humorous light on the hopeless male shopper.

This is hopefully the first of many such writings to explore the unnatural act of male shopping, as well as the beginning of a beautiful friendship with the multi-talented Ryan Willms and the entire h(y)r collective team.

It’s opening day for Rag & Bone‘s first New York boutique, located just to the right of Lord Willy’s West Village stronghold on Christopher St between Bleecker & Bedford.

The spacious 1,600-square-foot flagship is already fully stocked with the British label’s well-tailored and PETA-unfriendly men’s and women’s-wear, enhanced by a voluptuous pressed tin ceiling, muted wood floors and brick walls, modest antiques, and a low-key staff. Don’t expect to find any deals here for the time being, however.
