It’s the second week of February, meaning New York Fashion Week has arrived. NYFW:Mens kicked things off from Feb. 5-7, with womenswear and an increasing number of combined collections following on Feb. 8-15. Countless Fall/Winter runway presentations, brand collaborations, after parties and photo shoots will take over the city. While these are constantly shared across social media, actually attending can be harder than living in NY itself.
This topic of getting into NYFW was the core of Connected Seams’ first event, The Show Secrets Unveiled. At Alchemical Studios, a diverse group of panelists shared their untraditional stories of breaking into fashion. From leaving everything across the country to volunteer at NYFW to creative resume writing and finesse, they all found a small space to get in and build strong personal brands.
