Louis Purple Sample Sale

Our friends at Louis Purple on Lafayette St. recently decided to focus exclusively on made-to-measure. As such, the shop needs to part with its ready-made (ready-to-wear, off-the-rack) stock. The event is going down Friday through Monday, 8/3-8/6. “These are our very last samples…Everything must be gone by Monday!” we’re told. (Translation: Bring your negotiating skills.) Officially, suits will be priced at $300; jackets and raincoats at $150; cufflinks at $45; etc.

Barneys Warehouse Sale (Online)

Brace yourselves… for the biggest (and most criticized) sale of the year. No, Barneys Warehouse Sale isn’t coming to NYC until later this month, but, according to Racked.com, Barneys plans to kick off the online portion of the sale (yes, there’s an online portion, this year) tomorrow morning, 8/2, at 9am. No official confirmation from Barneys on that, and Racked.com wasn’t loading as of Wednesday afternoon — likely due to a flood of interest in the report.

Seize sur Vingt Sample Sale

This coming Saturday, 8/4 Seize sur Vingt will be hosting its annual summer sample sale. However, beginning Wednesday, 8/1, we’re told the irreverent atelier will begin unloading “a different set of samples,” online. The online sale is expected to go through Friday, 8/3, at midnight, and include complimentary shipping on orders of $250 and up.

Online, expect suits down from $3,500 to $400-$450; jackets down from $2,500 to $250-$350; shirts down from $400 to $90; … The shop posted some examples of what to expect here.
