The Drop: Lands’ End Canvas

— Sat, 14th November 2009 —

Giving J. Crew a run for its money, Lands’ End just debuted Canvas — a more stylish line that GQ describes as “classic outerwear, fitted shirts, and crazy-soft polos, all at insanely affordable prices.” We’re talkin’ poplin shirts for $30; “heritage” chinos for $40; shawl collar sweaters for $70; and pea coats for $80. Unfortunately, Lands’ End doesn’t maintain a physical presence in the city, but at these prices we’ll take our chances with mail-order.

St. Kilda Jewelry Sample Sale

— Fri, 13th November 2009 —

Sunday and Monday, 11/15-11/16, St. Kilda Jewelry is hosting a sample sale featuring up to 80% off designer Nora Kogan’s charming collection of solid gold and silver hand-finished pieces — made right here in the city, mind you. The shop is Brooklyn-based, but it’s just a block away from the Bergen stop on the 2 and the 3 lines. As such, we consider this event a holiday-shopping must.

7 for all Mankind Friends & Family Sale

— Fri, 13th November 2009 —

Through Sunday, 11/15, 7 for all Mankind is hosting a “friends & family” sale featuring 40% everything in store and online. Online, you’ll need promo code 7FAMILY. In store, print out and present the above postcard. We’re not fans of 7’s distressed denim or signature stitching, but guys swear by their fit, and their apparel ain’t half bad.

Through November 22, The King of Greene Street — which opened last year as a high-end reservation-only boutique — will be unloading Kris Van Assche, Guliano Fujiwara, and Viktor & Rolf at up to 40% off. At the end of last year’s holiday season, these guys resorted to 70% markdowns… but that was last year.
