To be clear, this is the stock that didn’t sell at 75% off before Ungaro closed its Madison Avenue flagship several months back. Translation: We’d love to hear your reports, but we doubt we’ll be making the trip.

Definitely less stock at the Y-3 sample sale than usual, and many of the pieces left us scratching our heads — it’s clearly a fine line between conceptual genius and ugly. The basics — workout gear, kicks, knits, polos — are there at 90% off retail… Just don’t expect to find much of brand’s coveted light outerwear.

Reader Rob F called bull, demanding that the crown go to Patrik Ervell and the jacket he designed for The Gap and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund — and which is only available at Gap’s Fifth Avenue concept store for the next month or so.
