The Steven Alan sample sale is indeed overwhelming, but overwhelming in the best way. All the patters; all the colors — Along with the fit, it’s what we’ve always loved about Alan’s shirts. ($69) Downstairs, expect to find plenty of Relwen, Gilded Age, Bentley Cravats ties, Rogan, Loomstate, and Hyden Yoo, along with a wall of Generic Surplus kicks. You’ve got through Sunday, 5/23.
Through Thursday, 5/20, 3.1 Phillip Lim is hosting its S/S sample sale featuring ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories from present past seasons.

Selection is limited at the CEGO sample sale — on through Thursday, 5/20 — but the available dress shirts are top notch and priced to move. Along with boxes of boxer-shorts in sizes 30-44, the sale comes complete with a gregarious tailor, there to address any questions or concerns you might have. Sizing is pretty evenly distributed between S, M, and L.
It’s difficult defining the Carlos Campos aesthetic. Aggressively FIT? Hugo Boss on steroids? It’s easier to say what is Campos isn’t: conservative; traditional; particularly versatile if you lead a relatively conservative or traditional lifestyle. At $200, the double-lapelled jacket pictured above is actually the most modest piece we found at the sample sale going through Friday, 5/21.
